While many people claim eCom is too saturated, that’s usually because they’re looking at the same surface level niches everyone and their dog researches.

But when you dive a little deeper, there are thousands of products most people don’t even know exist. And if you can source one of them at an affordable price, these niches can make for great micro-businesses.

Here’s the list.

#1 - Recovery Shoes 👞

Recovery shoes are designed to provide comfort and support to the feet, especially after intense physical activities or long periods of standing. Mainly because the soles, padding, arches, etc. promote recovery and reduce the impact on muscles and joints.

In terms of the target market, recovery shoes are popular among athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and (big surprise) individuals who spend extended periods standing. Normally they’re worn post-workout, but (despite looking like crocks) can also be used as everyday footwear.

#2 - Straw Covers 🥤

Whether they act as decorations for a bachelorette party, protective covers for germaphobes, or one of the ten million ways people can show their personality, straw covers are red hot right now.

In terms of target market, we’d bet our bottom dollar the majority of buyers are women aged 25 - 45. Especially mothers of young children and/or millennial women who carry around those insulated tumbler things (or reusable Starbucks mugs).

#3 - Essential Oil Shower Steamers 🛀

While the essential oils trend peaked a while ago, people are always looking for new and improved gadgets. And with shower steamers, you put a couple drops of you favorite oil on the sponge, stick it in the corner of your shower, and watch as the steam releases the scent to create a herbal bathing experience.

As for the target market, this one is easy: Anyone who buys essential oils.

4 - Knee Massagers 🦵

If you’re getting up there in the years, this is one hot product you’ll appreciate. While at home massagers are nothing new, combining something that’s a “nice to have” with a chronic pain millions of people suffer from turns it into a “must have.”

Regarding the target market, this one’s tough. Mainly because younger people who are overweight or put a lot of wear and tear on their knees when they were younger. On the flip side, studies show knee pain worsens with age and tends to affect women more than men.

5 - Cat Diffusers 🐈

As you likely know, people will stop at nothing when it comes to providing a higher quality of life for their fur babies. Which is why cat diffusers - any most anything related to pets - make for such great products.

In terms of how they work, apparently they release non-toxic pheromones into the air which have a calming effect on the cat’s nervous system. As for the target market, you’d be looking at a combination of cat owners who believe in holistic medicine.

6 - Freeze Dried Pet Treats 🐕

Similar to the point above, dog lovers tend to feed their pups a higher quality diet than they feed their own kids! Joking aside, diet has a huge impact on a pet’s health. Sadly, most treats - which are the highlight of a dog’s day - contain chemical-ridden stabilizers and preservatives.

Freeze dried pet treats, however, come straight from the source and contain no additives whatsoever. Just take them out of the freezer, let them thaw out, and poof - all natural dog treats. As for the target market, given this is diet focused, you’re looking at most anyone who buys premium dog food.

7 - Play Couches 🛋️

If you’re more of a human child person than a “my dog is my child” kind of person, you already know how much parents spend on their kids. And while we’re not sure how we feel about kids graduating from doll houses to life-sized houses, play couches are red hot right now.

As for who would buy such a thing, well, our guess is most any parent who has enough square footage to fit such a thing in the playroom or kids bedrooms.

8 - Vitamin Coffee ☕️

For as long as we can remember, pills and drinks have existed as their own unique delivery mechanism. But given how many powders are water soluble, it only makes sense to puts vitamins in everyone’s favorite drink: coffee.

Given how many people struggle to stay consistent when it comes to supplements and vitamins, the target market for this probably isn’t as big as you might think. In our opinion, vitamin coffee is most likely to appeal to the overlap of people who are both coffee connoisseurs and health freaks.

💡 Takeaway: While some people look at eCommerce and see extreme saturation, understanding niche markets and trends can give you a leg up over competitors when launching a physical product brand.

I'll leave you with this quote…
