Build a Business Based on Your Strengths
Just because something is hot doesn't mean you'll succeed with it.

Welcome to another issue of Passionate Income.
Today we’ll be discussing how to figure out which business you’re most likely to succeed in based on your psychological profile.
Let’s dive in.
From Myerrs Briggs to the Strengths Finder Test (both of which we recommend), there are dozens of personality assessments you can use to better understand yourself.
And while some are legit, many of them are either woo-woo, or deliver unactionable information when it comes to choosing a business model.
But when you cut through the clutter, two traits stand out as being highly relevant to which business you’re most likely to excel in.
First is whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert. Second is whether you’re a right-brained or left-brained thinker.
So in today’s issue, we’ll break down these four combinations and which business models you should consider depending on which one you fall into.
#1 - Introvert + Left-Brained (Logical) 🤓
I+LBs are the Sherlock Holmes of the business world.
They're great when it comes to solving problems, love diving deep into details, and (usually) prefer to work solo.
On the downside, for these types, networking events or high-pressure sales can feel like a nightmare. Mainly because I+LBs value their alone time and thoughtful decision-making process.
Recommended Internet Businesses:
Left-brained freelance careers (minimal client interaction)
Coding / Programming
Media Buying
Technical Writing
Business Consulting
Drop-shipping
Micro-SaaS
App Developer
Amazon Kindle Publishing
Niche Blogging
eCommerce Founder (Financials / Advertising Side)
#2 - Introvert + Right-Brained (Creative) 👨🎨
I+RBTs are creative geniuses.
They have a knack for writing/design/video and shine when they're left to their own devices. In school, they were typically the masterminds behind innovative ideas and creative group projects.
As for their weaknesses, they hate monotonous/repetitive tasks, and shy away from being on camera and socializing. Meaning any business model that requires networking at events, cold calling, or filming videos is a “no-go.”
Recommended Internet Businesses:
Right-brained freelance careers (minimal client interaction)
Copywriting
Ghostwriting
Graphic Designer
Videographer / Video Editor
Etsy Seller
Travel Blogger
eCommerce Founder (Branding / Product Side)
#3 - Extrovert + Left-Brained (Logical) 👨💻
E+LBs are great at logical problem-solving and thrive in social situations.
They can break down complex topics and explain them to others effortlessly (and enjoy the spotlight while they’re at it). And because of that, these types make for great influencers and gurus.
Especially when it comes to getting them on video or a stage (or webinar even).
On the downside, unstructured tasks and alone time bore E+LBs.
Ask them to spend hours and hours alone writing a sales letter, or mapping a business plan, and their desire for human contact will drive them insane.
Meaning, these types crave businesses that involve people, but offer clear, logical frameworks they can follow to deliver their product or service.
Recommended Internet Businesses:
Business Consulting
Coaching (B2B or B2C)
Digital Marketing Agency Founder
IT Consulting
Influencer / Guru
Youtuber / TikToker
SaaS Founder
Online Language Tutoring
High Ticket Sales (Low Energy Approach)
4 - Extrovert + Right-Brained (Creative) 👩💼
E+RBs are your natural-born entertainers / creative wizards.
They love dreaming up exciting ideas and sharing them with the world, which per the book Rocket Fuel, means they’re Visionaries.
In general, these types are at their best when they're in the spotlight, charming everyone with their creativity and enthusiasm. Great examples include entrepreneurs Tony Robbins and Gary Vee.
As for the weaknesses, the idea of spending all day locked up in a room writing content or crunching numbers (like media buyers and copywriters do) would drive these types insane.
But if you put them on a webinar with a crowd, they’ll shine.
Recommended Internet Businesses:
Influencer / Guru
Youtuber / TikToker
Info Product Seller / Course Creator
Brand Consulting
PR Consulting
High Ticket Sales (HIgh Energy Approach)
💡 Takeaway: Watch enough interviews with millionaire entrepreneurs and you’ll notice they all say the same thing: Playing to your strengths skyrockets your becoming successful. On the flip side, choosing a business model that’s hot on social media - but plays to your weaknesses - virtually guarantees your failure.
I'll leave you with this quote…
"You need to play to your strengths instead of playing to the best-case scenarios you have in your head.”
