Top Countries for Stretching Your Dollars

Live here = Major Life Hack

Today we’ll be discussing the best countries for stretching your income as someone who earns in dollars, pounds or euros.

In particular, places where you can enjoy a first world quality of life - at an affordable cost - without compromising on safety or infrastructure.

Let’s dive in.

Learn about a platform focused on payment processing, financing clients, deal closing, financial management, and affiliate management that enables coaches and digital entrepreneurs who sell courses and services online, to scale their business.

They work with major brands, including Tai Lopez, Alex Hormozi, and Ryan Pineda, that have scaled their businesses to millions a month in revenue.

I, the founder of Passionate Income, filmed a video sharing my experience…

Watch it here.

A couple weeks ago I saw a video from Tai Lopez where he said the easiest way to "get rich quick" is to get to six-figures and move to Thailand or Brazil.

Depending on your thoughts on Tai, you may or may not give this theory too much credibility.

But as someone who actually did this, I can tell you first-hand:

He's got a point.

Known as geoarbitrage, earning in a high value Western currency (like the Dollar, Pound or Euro) and moving to a country where the currency is weaker is a major life hack.

Sure, doing this involves actually moving. Which is a massive commitment with plenty of unknowns.

The good news?

Unlike the pre-Internet days, when it was near impossible to get information about living overseas, today everything is online.

In fact, YouTube and Google, you can find everything you need to know about moving to most any country on Earth in 10 minutes. From historical weather averages to a given county's crime rates, it's all there.

Even better, you can find travel videos showing first-person views of the places you're considering moving to. And because of that, relocating overseas has never been easier.

The hard part?

Deciding where you want to live.

So today, we thought we'd outline some of the best options for stretching your income without sacrificing your safety or quality of life. Here they are.

#1 - Thailand

It's hard to find someone who has something bad to say about Thailand.

From picture perfect beaches to some of the nicest people on Earth, Thailand has many positive things going for it with very few negatives.

In fact, the only real negatives are the timezones (which are horrible for doing calls with clients in the US or Europe) and the fact it's incredibly hard for Westerns to assimilate into Thai culture.

To be clear, that doesn't mean you'll endure racism or oppression if you're not Thai. Instead, all it means is you'll likely have better luck making friends with other foreigners. And if you marry a Thai person, don't expect to become too close with your in laws.

If you can overlook those two downsides, Thailand is safe, affordable and incredible for outdoors lovers. In fact, you can live comfortably on just $1,500 per month and like a king if earning $5,000 per month (for a single person, double those numbers for a family).

*Similar to Brazil, I've also lived in Thailand and can confirm it's an incredible place to live. Especially in places like Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, where first world amenities (and infrastructure) are the norm.

#2 - Portugal

According to NomadList.com - which ranks digital nomad and expat destinations - Portugal has multiple cities ranked in the Top 50.

Admittedly, you'll have to get out of Lisbon, where prices skyrocketed after the country introduced their Golden Visa program in the 2010s.

But if you're willing to check out some other towns like Porto, Lagos or others, you can enjoy first world living in a highly safe coastal town. And you can do so for as little as $2,400 per month.

Not to mention, Portugal has the same "Mediterranean climate" Californians enjoy. And while the country's tax rules for foreigners aren't quite as friendly as they used to be, they're much more favorable than their equally desirable - but tax heavy - neighbor Spain.

#3 - Greece

Like the idea of a low cost of living AND low taxes?

Assuming you can get permanent residency, Greece offers 0% taxes for non-domiciled foreigners. In addition, Athens ranks as #8 on NomadList.com and has a cost of living on par with Prague (which is also known for being highly affordable by European standards).

Admittedly, the Greeks and the Portuguese are two very different peoples, with (somewhat) different lifestyles and cultures. Despite this, residents from both enjoy tons of sun and a relaxed, outdoor lifestyle.

So if you like sangria, white sand beaches and a California-like mild climate, make sure to check out Greece.

#4 - Buenos Aires, Argentina

This is a tough one.

During late 2023, Buenos Aires was all the rage for the combination of high quality of life and low cost of living it offered.

Mainly because Argentina's currency was in a state of hyper inflation against the dollar, with values dropping so dramatically people rushed to spend their income each week rather than watch it's purchasing power disappear.

In late November of 2023, however, the country elected a new, anti-inflation President: Javier Milei.

Since then, inflation has been crashing, with June of this year being the first month the country experienced sub 5% MoM inflation since early 2022.

I mention this because - as their currency gains strength - it appears Buenos Aires is no longer the ultra-cheap mega city it used to be. In fact, multiple people report rent prices having doubled over the last six months alone.

With that said, food prices, fuel, etc. are still incredibly cheap there.

Not to mention, Buenos Aires offers first world living conditions while allowing you to stay near to USA timezones. Sure, you can find similar levels of amenities in São Paulo or Mexico City. But your cost of living will be double (or more) relative to what you'd pay in Argentina's capital.

💡 Takeaway: If you're willing to make the move, geo-arbitrage is one of the fastest ways to increase your quality of life overnight. And Thailand, Portugal, Greece and Argentina are some of your best options for doing so without sacrificing quality of life.
