As you may have seen, over the coming weeks the Passionate Income newsletter (but not the Instagram page) will be closing down.
In its place, we'll be opening the Owner Arnas newsletter.

So why are we making the change?
While it hurts to admit this, in all honesty I made some mistakes.
Back in 2023, newsletters were hot.
At the time, I was crushing it with my Passionate Income IG page and thought bolting a newsletter onto the brand would help drive additional revenue.
Mainly because both faceless pages and newsletters operate like media companies. How?
Simple: Similar to radio stations and TV channels, both business models are based around a) building an audience, and then b) charging brands / companies to advertise to said audience.
So I dove into the numbers and thought the newsletter would turn a profit after hitting 50,000 subscribers.
At which point I pitched an investor, threw in multiple 5-figures of my own money, and started running ads like crazy to scale to 50,000 subs ASAP.
And while we hit that number very fast (which was really just function of throwing money at ads lol)...
It turns out I didn't do a very good job of running the numbers before launch.
Because once I dug into the weeds of how much it would cost to:
Pay a writer each month
Hire a salesperson to find advertisers and sponsors
Pay the salesperson's commission
Pay for email software
And keep advertising to compensate for email churn
I realized I was a long ways from turning a worthwhile profit with just 50k subs.
Especially when I realized how little sponsors were willing to spend to reach a generic B2C audience made up of beginner online business owners.
(Which is why choosing your niche is so important.)
As you may have noticed, we tried to address this by running as few sponsored posts as possible and instead promoting my own products.
And if I'm being honest, the reception was lukewarm.
Which makes sense:
When you joined this list, you signed up for a content-first newsletter (like Morning Brew or The Hustle).
On the flip side, you didn't sign up for the Arnas Gintalas personal brand newsletter.
So it makes sense we didn't "crush it" pushing my internal offers.
But here's the thing:
While not all 80,000+ of the people who signed up for the Passionate Income newsletter have been super receptive...
Some of you have.
In fact, the performance of our internal promotions has massively outperformed the sponsored ad / brand deals we were doing before and could have continued doing if we hadn't changed gears.
More important, since we started pushing our webinars, workshops and courses last year...
We've had students come in, take action on my Faceless Page strategy...
And begin collecting payments from their own Faceless Pages.
Which made me realize it was time to shut the PI newsletter down.
Because not only were my personal brand offers generating more revenue for the business...
Between the testimonials and positive engagement I'm seeing inside our paid offers, it's also fair to say my Personal Brand stuff is having a larger impact.
And really, that's what online business is all about:
Making money in an ethical way by doing something you're passionate about.
*Hence why my brand is called Passionate Income!
And because of that, we will be shutting down the PI newsletter and transitioning it to the Owner Arnas newsletter.
Meaning, moving forward, our content will be shifting from generic online business advice...
