Welcome to another issue of Passionate Income.
In this week's three-part series, we're breaking down today's most popular funnel-building software.
In particular, the Pros and Cons of each, what level of tech-savvy you'll need you master them, and how much they all cost as of March 2024.
In Part I and Part II, we covered ActiveCampaign, ClickFunnels, GetResponse and Hubspot. Today we'll close out by covering Instapage and Kartra.
Let’s dive in.
This issue is sponsored by us - Passionate Income!
Want to build a business that doesn’t involve cold outreach, slaving away for clients, or having to import products from China?
With a Faceless Instagram Page, you answer to no one. No clients. No customers. No calls or complaints.
Just create content, sell shout-outs, and bank checks.
I should know: I built a 1M+ follower page that generates $1,000+ per day!
Want to see how I did it?
^ And yes, it's 100% FREE ☝️ (no opt-in required)
So which one should you pick?
Well, that's what this four-part series is here to help you with.
Below, we'll include the Pros, Cons, and pricing for each funnel software so you can dig deeper if one of them sounds like a good fit for your situation.*
*These are listed in alphabetical order, not by which ones are our favorites or most recommended.
When Instapage first launched it was desperately needed.
After years of ClickFunnels being the only affordable, full-service funnel builder in town, people were growing sick of its bugs, downtime and cheesy templates.
In particular, more advanced marketers were growing tired of how slowly CF pages would load (discussed in Part I).
So, identifying a gap in the market, Instapage launched with a USP of having the fastest loading pages. Except for one thing: Their UI wasn't anywhere near as easy to use as ClickFunnels. Nor did they have as many features.
And because of that, their initial success was short-lived.
Fast forward to today and Instapage has abandoned its goal of becoming a funnel builder in favor of becoming the "#1 landing page tool."
On the positive side, if your only goal is to drive opt-ins, Instapage has most every technology a marketer could dream of. From A/B testing to AI content generation to Ad-to-Page Personalization and more.
On the down side, you can't build actual funnels with IP.
So if you're trying to run webinars, sell info products, etc., you'll need to search elsewhere. Further, if you want their more advanced features (like AI tests and Heat Maps), you're looking at $299 per month or an Enterprise plan.
Last, as a landing page software, InstaPage doesn't offer email marketing. Which as we've discussed multiple times, is a huge negative for us.
Pricing: $99/mo - $299/mo+ depending on tier of service.
Similar to Instapage, Kartra launched at a time when Clickfunnels users were desperate for an alternative solution.
Created by Internet Marketing legends Andy Filsaime and Mike Jenkins (with supposed investment backing from Frank Kern), Kartra is branded as an "all-in-one" marketing platform designed to help creators and publishers monetize their audience and content.
Unlike Instapage, however, Kartra allows users to build full-blown funnels.
From webinars to membership sites to surveys and quizzes, Kartra lives up to its promise of being an "all-in-one" solution.
Sadly, relative to other ClickFunnels competitors (many of which we've covered in this series), Kartra never gained mainstream adoption. Why?
My hypothesis is that the owners have such big email lists, and so many contacts in the industry, they opted to grow it via Affiliates and Joint Venture partnerships instead of paid advertising and content marketing.
While it's not necessarily a bad thing (given the founders likely went this route by choice), the lack of mainstream marketing has prevented Kartra from becoming a household name.
And that lack of revenue means less cash to invest in development.
So, while Kartra offers a lot of surface-level features - and is great for beginners - it lacks some of the more advanced features you might see from companies like Ontraport, Instapage, etc.
Pricing: $119 - $549+ / month
💡 Takeaway: Not all sales funnel software are created equal. Depending on the use case and your budget, some may be a better fit than others.
