Welcome to another issue of Passionate Income.
Today we’ll be discussing how solopreneurs, digital nomads, and small business owners of all shapes and sizes can save money this Black Friday. While the public thinks of Black Friday in terms of consumer sales, in reality we as entrepreneurs can score some pretty sweet deals as well.
Let’s dive in.
Had your eye on a course for a while? Bookmarked a SaaS that would help you save time?
These are just a small sample of the different ways we as business owners can save money during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. So today, we’ll provide an in-depth list of expenses you should consider.

Further, if something pops into your mind, we highly recommend signing up for the company’s email list so you receive their best promos. And remember, you can always unsubscribe come Tuesday.
Here’s the list.
#1 - Laptop Upgrades 💻
Laptops are a solopreneur's lifeline, and during BF/CM you can snag premium models at a fraction of the cost. In fact, brands like Dell and HP can offer discounts ranging from 20-30%.
Also keep an eye out for flash sales and bundle deals, which are typically announced on social media at the last minute.
#2 - Cloud Storage ☁️
If you have oodles of videos and photos bogging down your device, this is a must. Cloud storage services like Dropbox and Google Drive usually slash their prices during BF.
Last year alone, Dropbox offered a whopping 50% off their annual plans, giving you more room for your creations without burning a hole in your pocket.
#3 - Graphic Design Software 🎨
Doesn’t matter if you’re creating IG photos, YT thumbnails or blog article headers. Odds are if you’re in business, you’re using graphic design software.
Luckily for us, design giants like Canva and Adobe - makers of Photoshop and Lightroom - often roll out BF specials with significant discounts. As an example, last year, Adobe provided up to 60% off for new subscribers.
4 - Web Hosting 🛜
Here’s a fun fact: In 2018, I won an iPhone X by participating in a website hosting company’s Black Friday promo.
While I can’t guarantee you’ll do the same, what I can guarantee is that most (if not all) major hosting companies will be rolling out serious discounts this year (like they do every year). Especially on their annual plans.
5 - Online Courses 👨💻
Upping your skills is one of the best ways to up your income. Period.
Fortunately, platforms like Udemy and Coursera often roll out Black Friday promotions, offering deep discounts on a vast array of courses. And it’s not just the big dogs. Independent sellers, meaning gurus, experts, creators, etc. are also known to discount their courses.
6 - Camera Gear and Accessories 📸
While smartphone makers like Apple and Samsung don’t offer particularly big (if any) discounts on their newest models, camera brands like Canon and Sony do.
Whether you're a digital nomad vlogger or a creator seeking to level up your content, this is the time to snag that high-quality lens or tripod at a fraction of the regular cost.
7 - Email Marketing Software 📧
As you’ve probably heard: “The money is in the list.”
Luckily, email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp and ConvertKit usually roll out Black Friday deals, offering significant savings on their subscription plans.
Last year, ConvertKit provided discounts of up to 50%, making BF the perfect opportunity to save money on what is arguably the most important software in your biz.
8 - Noise Cancelling Ear Buds and Headphones 🎧
If you work from a cafe - or have non-stop construction outside your building like I’m experiencing this very second - noise cancelling headphones are a must.
In addition to Apple’s already-published Air Pods discounts, quality noise-canceling headphones from brands like Sony and Bose are often discounted by as much as 40% during Black Friday. And keep an eye out (and your ears open) for limited-time offers and bundle deals.
💡 Takeaway: While most people think of Black Friday as a time to save money on clothes and electronics, it’s also a great time for entrepreneurs to save money on expenses. Especially as it relates to recurring expenses where you can lock in long-term discounts.
I'll leave you with this quote…
"A penny saved is a penny earned.”
